These pieces were the beginnings of my using copper sheets to build paintings. In my trips to Japan and S.Korea starting in 1995 they were easy to ship as I could roll them in small enough coil to carry in flights - then roll out as a scroll for presentation. In Asian history scrolls are very acceptable, carrying a lot of written information for fine Painting/drawings.
With this second sheet, I embossed the metal before painting to give a pattern so it had more depth and perception of metal illusion as excitement and artistic style.
I like the dance motif in all these works because it breaks from static form and has a created suggestion of movement.
